Fuzhou Association of Science and Technology is the mass organization of science and technology workers of Fuzhou City，the bridge and link of the party and government to get in touch with science and technology workers， a significant force to push forward the development of science and technology cause，and it is led by the party committee of Fuzhou City. The major responsibilities of its organs are as follows:

    (1) To carry out academic exchanges，to let academic ideologies brisk and the academic field prosper，to boost  subjects` development and knowledge innovation.

    (2) To specifically work out and put into practice science & technology popularization by Fuzhou Association of Science and Technology according to relevant national guidelines, policies and plans；to mobilize forces from all walks of the society to carry out activities of science & technology popularization and education and to popularize the advanced technology；to guide the planning, construction, management of such establishments as science & technology halls  and the construction of the team of science & technology popularization.

    (3) To serve science and technology workers with body and soul，to reflect their suggestions and requests， to safeguard their lawful rights and interests；to guide them to play a role in the economic construction and social affairs of our city，to organize them to take part in working out policies and laws of science and technology, political consultancies, scientific decision-making and democratic supervision. 

    (4) To give awards to and publicize the outstanding science and technology workers， to recommend them；and to further their education and training.

    (5) To undertake scientific argumentation and consulting service，to put forward policy advices， to facilitate the transformation of science and technology，to accept entrusted projects` appraisal, performance appraisal and other assignments.

    (6) To extensively connect with people from the field of science and technology from home and abroad，to carry out international scientific and technological exchanges；to develop civil relations and communication with groups and individuals of science and technology from Hong Kong, Macao special administrative regions, Taiwan region and abroad.

    (7) To be in charge of supervision and management of relevant institutes, science and technology groups；to instruct the work of the associations of science and technology of the districts, counties and cities and the work of grass-roots organizations.
